Having recently bought this GPS unit, I thought I'd share how I set it up and maybe get some feedback and solutions to some of the problems I've found with it.

The unit was bought from ebay from user G21Shop. I paid $270 for the unit, with wireless camera and express delivery. It is a 533mhz machine with 128mb ram and 128mb nand. It can take up to a 32gb full size SD card. 800x480 screen. The front end looks like this: The operating system is WinCE 5.0 and is unlocked.

This is the system information. It has FM, and Bluetooth and MStar GPS (which seems pretty quick to get a lock). The GPS path is definable and it came with a cut-down version of GPSUnlock/Enviro8's menu system. I've tried the full versions of both but wanted something that was a bit simpler. So I modified the included one with icons from the downloaded ones.

I couldn't find many extra icon's that worked, other icons from other sources just threw up errors and I couldn't find any way to change the ones I downloaded to work in the software. If anyone can tell me how to make icons that will work with it I'd appreciate it. Here's what I came up with (by modifying the ini file) A grid of 5x4 icons, neatly lined up. If I want any of the other software I just go into the file manager and run it from there. I'm currently running it from the NAND and it points at the SDcard for all the software other than the menu system. You can dowload my menu, along with the utilities listed in it (so the path's and icons etc all work) It doesn't include any of the navigation software or maps though which you will need to get for yourself (there are plenty of links around on this forum and others). None of the music or media players work properly.

That's an issue I need to resolve as the built in music player stops as soon as you go into the GPS menu. Nitrogen won't minimise. I can't find any movie players that aren't cab's and cabs don't want to install. Active sync doesn't see the machine, it just detects as a drive. So, still to resolve so far ottomh: * need more icons * need some media players that work properly. * need to convert the WinCE to English. * need to know the path and exe's to the bluetooth, volume, and backlight to be able to add icons for those somewhere on my menu (the YF links included with the GPSUnlock menu don't work of course).

Nothing complicated, just a main page with large icons for iGO and ozi with small icons pointing to BT and FM, and small icons pointing to games, office, tools and settings pages. With SystemInformation, which the GPSUnlock is based on, you can also use.bmp's for icons but.png's don't work. MioPocket has a heap of good.png's but I don't know how to convert them to.ico (the extent of my image editing is with MS Paint!), if you convert them to.bmp they end up looking a bit average.
